Discussing Resources

With our research topic being media piracy,a lot of the sources we discussed in class would be difficult to use. The few sources I believe would be helpful are the newspapers, magazines, and scholarly articles. Media piracy is a current topic in this day in age and new details are always unfolding. Because the newspaper and the magazine are always new and relevant, I find them to be perfect sources. The information I receive will be factual because they are written by journalist and experts. What are also useful about newspapers and magazines is that they often incorporate interviews. This is very important with my research because I can find out exactly how it is affecting both the customers and the producers. Also, the information is often presented in a way which in unbiased. With the scholarly article, I can trust that that the information is reliable because it is often written by a professor or scholar in that particular field. For example, I found an article written by a government official who claimed that media piracy is costing the economy over 4 billion dollars each year. This would be a perfect example of a statistic that could be used in my research paper.
